How To Make Spicy Mayo | 2 Ingredients

This is probably one of the easiest sauces you’ll ever make. I thought it was necessary to add this to my 1 to 3-minute sauces because a lot of people don’t realize just how simple it is.

I am a sushi lover and although I cannot indulge all the time like I would love to when I do I can always whip together a 30-second sauce. I usually request a side of spicy mayo if I’m picking up sushi. Now I’m glad to know how to make spicy mayo recipe all by myself.

This recipe only requires two ingredients so we’re already off to a good start. There is a 3rd optional ingredient but there’s not a drastic change in taste either way.

I mostly use spicy mayo on sushi and my egg bowls. However, this sauce is also good with french fries, onion rings, onion blooms, and burgers.

Now let’s get to the ingredients.

  1. Mayonaise: I always go for the healthier brand of mayonnaise. You can find a large jar of My staple mayo brand at Costco called Primal Kitchen. You should also be able to find it online and on Amazon. The ingredients are simple: Avocado Oil, Organic Eggs, Organic Vinegar, Sea Salt, and Organic Rosemary Extract.
  2. Sriracha: If you are watching your sugar intake you shouldn’t have much to worry about if you make this sauce infrequently. However, if this becomes a regular make sure to read the back of your sriracha bottle to see the amount of sugar they use. You can also replace the sriracha with hot sauce.
  3. Lemon: Optional
  4. Seasoning: Is optional. I find that you really don’t need too much seasoning added to this recipe but some use a cajun spice. My go to spices are himalayan sea salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and cracked pepper, but I don’t usually add anything to this sauce. The sriracha gives it the kick that it needs.

Quick Tip:

The Primal Kitchen brand of mayo is so much cleaner than the brand I used to swear by. Most brands contain harsh ingredients, like inflammatory soybean oil, natural flavors, and sugar.

How to Make Spicy Mayo

If you’re making this for the family you can use ½ cup to 1 cup of mayo, 1-2 tbsp of sriracha, and a squeeze of lemon. Then you can season it to your liking.

You’ll place the mayonnaise in a small bowl, add the sriracha sauce, the lemon, the seasoning and mix it all together. See it’s Easy Peasy.

Feel free to cover and place it in the fridge if you don’t plan on using it right away.

In conclusion, for those who are here not just for the recipe, but also because you’re interested in eating healthier I’ll link the mayonnaise I mentioned below.
